Buckle up for weekend rodeo

THE Gympie Horse and Rodeo Association Final Buckle Series are being held this Friday and Saturday at the Jane Street grounds.

“There'll be some tough competition this weekend with competitors looking to secure their place in the years buckle series” event organiser Bobbi-Jo Blake said.

The junior and junior beginner team penning will be held on Friday night along with the NBHA Jackpot Barrel Race.

Continuing from the night before the open team penning will be first up Saturday morning followed by the beginners and more barrel racing.

Throughout the day the GHRA will be holding another Ute Show after great success with the last one and also new to the club will be a dog high jump.

Saturday night spectators can see all the action packed rodeo timed events including team roping, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, steer undecorating and more.

“The buckles are anyone's to win at the moment,” Bobbi Jo said.
