Brisbane school teacher on child porn charges

A BRISBANE school teacher will face court in December over a raft of child pornography offences.

John Dimitrios Amarandos' teaching registration was formally suspended by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal on October 5 as he is due to face Wynnum Magistrates Court in December in relation to three separate child pornography charges.

The 54-year-old's Tingalpa home was searched by officers from the Crime and Corruption Commission in August.

He was later charged with possessing child exploitation material under the Queensland Criminal Code and using a carriage service to make available child pornography material - a Commonwealth offence.
