Bring the government to Gympie agents

TODAY saw some more positive news for the Mary Valley with the announcement of Templeton Ginger expanding into the Valley and the Mary Valley Rattler taking its first tentative steps to restoring a service along the Mary Valley line.

It's unfortunate but this positive news was again overshadowed by the government giving the rights to sell land in the Valley, bought up for the failed Traveston Crossing dam, to a Brisbane firm Oliver Hume Real Estate Group.

Yesterday nine Gympie real estate agencies joined to make a stand against the government deal and demanded an audience with deputy premier Jeff Seeney and Gympie MP David Gibson.

They got one, but not with Mr Seeney. Instead his chief policy advisor will join Mr Gibson in Brisbane for the meeting.

Now once again I might be wrong but if the LNP was serious about listening to local concerns they would meet with our agents in Gympie instead of making them lose another day's work by travelling to the city.
