Bright change for Magic Brush
GYMPIE business Magic Brush is embracing change with flair.
The business has moved from its former location in Nash St to Red Hill, has a new owner and opening hours along with a renewed commitment to customer service and a love of all things craft.
At the helm of the business, specialising in art and craft supplies, scrap booking, paper craft classes and card making, is Laurelle Pratt.
Laurelle officially took over last Wednesday and having worked for the business a few years ago, said taking on Magic Brush was always something she wanted to do.
"There is potential for growth and I have a passion for customer service," she said.
With the flick of a brush, Laurelle is setting about making changes to help the business further establish itself in the region.
The new owner plans to expand the range of supplies on offer and offer additional classes across a number of craft pursuits.
"The change of ownership has been a bit hectic and it's a learning curve but I'm loving it," she said.
"People have been so supportive and coming in and wishing me well. I really appreciate it."
Laurelle said learning what her customers wanted would be the key to providing a valuable service.
"It's very important to give my customers what they are looking for and I am gradually learning," she said.
The craft world is constantly changing and the Magic Brush owner plans to stay in front of demand.
Laurelle hopes to eventually hold children's art class during school holidays in addition to regular arts and craft classes by the end of the year.
She also plans to order in products for customers if they cannot find in store what they are looking for, keeping business local.
