PARAMEDICS have described the harrowing scenes they witnessed at a fatal crash near Cordalba today.

Queensland Ambulance Service operations supervisor Michael Low said crews responded to the confronting crash just after 8.30am.

"Unfortunately a male person was deceased on their arrival," he said.

The crash closed one lane of Childers Rd for a number of hours while forensic crash investigation officers combed the site for clues into what caused the devastating crash.

Bundaberg police District Crime Prevention Co-ordinator Senior Constable Danielle Loftus asked all road users to think about their actions at all times.

"Preliminary investigations indicate that it was a two vehicle crash," she said.

"A 48-year-old Walkervale was pronounced deceased at the scene and a 34-year-old Apple Tree Creek woman was transported to Bundaberg Hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.

"Given that this fatal traffic crash today has had an impact on so many people and again we're asking all motorists to be aware of their actions and decisions they make when they are out on the road.

"We're heading into a weekend now and we know that individuals and families are going to be out and about and may want to visit places and people who they wish to see.

"We need everyone to arrive alive."
