Sarina man, 45, dies in tragic roll over west of region

UPDATE WEDNESDAY 8AM: A SARINA man has been killed in a single vehicle crash yesterday afternoon. 

Emergency services were called to Sarina Marlborough Road at 4.50pm after a passing motorist spotted the man's overturned vehicle. 

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a man aged 45, tragically died at the scene. 

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.

EARLIER: A MAN has been killed in a horror crash south west of Sarina this afternoon.

Just before 4pm, Queensland Ambulance Service, Queensland Police and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service were called to Marlborough Sarina Road, about 8km north of the Oxford Downs Sarina Road intersection, following reports of a single vehicle rollover.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed a man tragically died at the scene, however his age and the location he resided has not been confirmed.

The road was closed to all traffic.

The death comes just days after a 69-year-old Rockhampton grandmother was killed in a crash on the Bruce Highway south of Sarina.

Around 1pm on Saturday, the Toyota Landcruiser the woman was driving left the road and crashed into a dry creek bed about 3km south of the Kalarka Road House, near St Lawrence.

Her 14-year-old grandson from Boondall was trapped in the vehicle for more than an hour and suffered a broken arm and other injuries.

It is understood the pair had celebrated an early Christmas with family at Sarina Beach and were heading back to Rockhampton when the crash occurred.

The back-to-back accidents comes just weeks after 17-year-old Dysart teen, Aaron Burns, was killed when the vehicle he was driving rolled several times on Moranbah Access Road.

Three other teenagers and a child were injured in the accident. 

UPDATE: ONE people is reportedly being treated at the scene of a single vehicle crash west of Sarina.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed they were on scene treating a victim of the accident which has occurred on Marlborough Sarina Road, about 8km north of the Oxford Downs Sarina Road intersection.

Police from Nebo have arrived on scene, with crews from Sarina still en route.

BREAKING 5PM: EMERGENCY services are responding to reports of a serious crash west of Sarina.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman confirmed three fire crews were responding to a single vehicle roll over on Sarina Marlborough Road, about 45km west of Sarina.

While initial details are sketchy, it is understood at least one person is trapped. QAS are on scene and Queensland Police are also en route.

RACQ CQ Rescue have been made aware and are on standby.
