Police hunting for man who grabbed Qld woman, shoved her in car

UPDATE 1.10PM: A WOMAN who claims she was grabbed by a man and shoved into a vehicle in an attempted abduction at North Mackay is safely with police. 

The woman has provided a details description of the man to police: 

  • Older aged man
  • Scrawny build
  • Grey hair with tinges of brown
  • 3/4 length jeans/pants
  • Plain white/grey coloured shirt
  • Cap and sunnies

The man, driving a black Holden or Toyota four door sedan with silver roof racks was last seen heading west on Malcomson St about 12.30pm. 

Police are patrolling the area searching for the vehicle and man. 

BREAKING 12.30PM: POLICE are racing to north Mackay following reports of an attempted abduction.

Initial reports indicate police received a 000 call from a woman who claimed she had been grabbed by a man and shoved into a black Holden or Toyota four door sedan with silver roof racks.

The woman claims she managed to escape, after the man warned her "don't do anything or I will murder you".

The woman was on foot near Mackay Harbour and has now made it to a location in North Mackay where she is now with police.

The vehicle involved has reportedly come back past the woman again and was last seen heading west on Malcomson St.

Reports indicate the older aged man was alone and is described as Caucasian wearing jeans and a plain shirt.

The woman told police he had a baseball bat on the back seat of the car.
