UPDATE: Major franchise looking for partner for Gladstone store

UPDATE 7am

WHILE the current Gladstone Pizza Capers chain owners could not be reached for comment, a spokeswoman from head office said the franchise did not want to lose its Gladstone store.

The spokeswoman said the franchise would continue to look for partners in the Gladstone region, so that a local store could remain open.

"We are aware that the Gladstone store has announced its closing however, we are also very interested in anyone looking to take on the role of the Pizza Capers franchise partner in Gladstone," the spokeswoman said.

The reason for the closure of the Gladstone store remains unknown at this stage.

EARLIER

A MAJOR food outlet in the Gladstone region has announced today it will close its doors by the end of the week.

Pizza Capers, located at the Gladstone Square Shopping Centre, off Tank and Goondoon St, posted to Facebook less than an hour ago that the franchise would be closing down.

The final day to get your pizza fix from the business will be April 30.

The Observer has attempted to contact the Gladstone store and is awaiting a response from the head office franchise.

It comes after the shock permanent closure announcement from The Brasserie restaurant at the Gladstone Golf Club.
