Croc closes Mackay Harbour beach

THERE has been a crocodile sighting at Mackay Harbour beach and the beach has been closed.

Surf Life Saving Queensland advised via a Tweet about 11.30am that the beach was off limits.

The organisation advised people to stay away from the water.

More to come, as more information comes to hand.

Harbour Beach was closed late in October when a crocodile estimated to be about 2.5m long was sighted.
