Boy, 10, flown off Fraser Island after jellyfish sting

A 10-YEAR-old boy has been flown from Fraser Island after suffering a jellyfish sting.

The boy was stung on his leg while swimming on Sunday and was initially treated by Fraser Island paramedics.

However his condition deteriored on Monday and he was flown off the island from Orchid Beach by the Bundaberg-based RACQ Careflight Rescue helicopter about 3pm.

The boy, who was on holiday with his family on the island, was accompanied by his mother.

He arrived at Hervey Bay hospital in a stable condition.
