Boy hit by car at Cooloola Coast campground

ONE family had a terrible start to the school holidays with a young boy taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle while camping at Inskip Point.

The boy, aged 7, was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after the incident, which happened just before 11am at the Inskip Point campgrounds.

Police said the boy was "hit by a vehicle at low speed".

The extent of his injuries is unknown.
