Gympie women's

THE Division Fours final was played at Imbil on Wednesday, April 12 between the Cooloola Coast team of Sue Ramsay, Lyn Gray, Carol Crosby and skip Wendy Ryan.

Against Gayle Fisher, Ann Hudson, Tracy Ferriday (Kenilworth) and Skip Jill Callaway from Tin Can Bay.

It was a very close game with them being even on the last end then the T.C.B. team picked up the shot to win by one shot.

Congratulations to both teams for a well fought game.

The draw for the Division Pairs will be in Saturdays paper.

It will be sectional play and played at Kandanga on Monday, April 24.

Morning tea at 8.30am for a 9am start.

Don't forget to bring your lunch.


OUR next game is a visit to Kilkivan on April 23.

We will play with Tansey, Goomeri and Kilkivan in an afternoon game of bowls.

Friday, April 21 is open mixed jackpot pairs starting at 1pm.

Saturday, April 22 Century 21 and Billy Mitchell will be sponsoring APL pairs starting at 9.30am.

Entry is $40 per team which includes lunch and dinner.

Sunday, April 23 QRI travel to Kilkivan.

Tuesday, April 25 is the RSL Anzac Day with a 1pm start.

Wednesday, April 26 is graded mixed pairs 12.30pm mufti dress.

Sunday, May 7 we will be celebrating our 70th birthday.

Dodt cup: Invitations have been sent out to clubs to play for the Dodt Cup on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14.

Please let Julian Maher know asap if your club intends to play.

Regular games: Every Wednesday, 12.30pm start. Graded Club Selected Pairs mufti. Every Friday, 1pm start is the open mixed jackpot pairs.

First Tuesday each month, 10am start is the men's open jackpot pairs Mufti. Coaching sessions are available by arrangement - please contact the club (5482 1095)

EASTER Sunday brought a resurgence of interest in the bowls club with four rinks occupied and a few new names on the board.

Trophy winners on the day were R. Start and M. Lewis with runners up T. Farrow and T. Lewis. Our next big day will be a visit from QRI club on Sunday, April 23.

Don't forget, club dining, Friday nights, starting 6 o'clock Wednesday happy hour, starting at 5pm with Lucky members draw.


AFTER the Anzac Day march next Tuesday why not grab some lunch and join us for a game of bowls.

Be at the Albert Bowls Club by 12.30pm for a 1pm start.

We will be playing two games of mixed bowls.

TODAY we will be sponsored by McIntosh Meats, it should be a good day and play will start at 9.30am. Last week the winners of the game were Roy Patroni and Roger Ingram with + 14 and Leith Carroll won the raffle.

Lots of names are already on the board for the Anzac Day, Tuesday, April 25 Hens and Roosters clash with play starting at 1.30pm, don't miss this one.

On the last day this month, Sunday, April 30 we travel to Cooloola Coast, our plan is to bring back the shield but we need all the help that we can muster, put your name down and let us know if you can take a passenger or if you need a ride, play will start at 1pm.
