Borders begin closing as Ebola outbreak gains momentum
BORDERS were finally shut down between Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia on Sunday, after the World Health Organisation labelled the Ebola outbreak an international emergency.
Guinea, believed to be the source of the latest Ebola outbreak, now with more than 500 victims, shut its borders between its West African neighbours.
The belated clamp down followed the WHO said it now posed an international health risk, as Australian border authorities remain on high alert for potential incoming visitors with the disease.
