Firies fight Boonara shed fire

SEVERAL fire crews battled a large blaze in a shed containing about 100 hay bales at Boonara, west of Gympie yesterday.

Three urban crews and two rural crews were called to the property on Maudsley Road, Boonara about midday. The fire was well involved on arrival and they battled to contain the blaze to the shed.

A spokesperson said fire crews were able to stop the fire from spreading and contained it to the shed which was approximately 30m x 30m in size.

Council water tankers were utilised at the scene and the fire was expected to burn for some time. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire was not known yesterday.
