Bombers want Fraser Coast's support in AFL Wide Bay final
AUSSIE RULES: All the work Hervey Bay Bombers have done since November comes to a head on Saturday - and now the AFL Wide Bay minor premiers want your help.
The Bombers will host the grand final against Gympie Cats at Norm McLean Oval, and players want nothing more than to see a sea of red and black welcome the visitors.
Bombers captain Lachie Woodhams said the opportunity to play at home, courtesy of AFL Wide Bay's grand final rotational policy (the big day is shared across the competition) would provide an all-important confidence boost.
Who will win the AFL Wide Bay Grand Final?
This poll ended on 01 September 2018.
Hervey Bay Bombers
This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.
"We're four out of five at finals at our home ground so that's a massive boost for our players and we're just excited to play in front of our home ground," Woodhams said.
"It's very exciting."
There is caution in his words - the Cats have won three of five games between the two, including the qualifying final two weeks ago.
"It's awesome," Hunter said of playing at home.
"They're a good side Gympie so we'll have to do our homework during the week. I think we'll atone really well, we match up really well.
"They were smacking us at half time last week but we came back. There's a lot to work on but a lot of positives out of that second half. It's going to be a cracking game.
"If everyone can keep their heads on the day it will be a spectacle."
