Blue and white colours win

GYMPIE trainer Peter Fleming and the Craiglea team of horses received some recompense this week for a fruitless trip to Townsville the previous week.

Last week the Craiglea team left on the long trip to Townsville a couple of days before the mid-week meeting but the meeting was subsequently abandoned due to wet weather. Things improved sharply this week with a winning double by Craiglea horses at Townsville on Tuesday followed by another winner at Rockhampton on Wednesday.

At Townsville, 2 yr old Craiglea Stellar (by Cheval de Troy) won the QTIS 600 2 yr old maiden beating stablemate, Crystal Mates (Frisco View) by 1¾ lengths. The win was worth $20,000 for QTIS eligible horses.

Craiglea Tina (Top Echelon) then bolted in by 4¼ lengths in the 1300m Open to complete the double.

On to Rockhampton last Wednesday and the promising Craiglea Model (Frisco View) won the 1050m QTIS Two year old, worth $20,500 to winner if QTIS 600 eligible, and Craiglea Gal was second in the Class 3 to round out a successful week for the blue and white Johnston family colours.
