Ipswich man to face court on intent to rape charge

POLICE have charged a man following an incident that occurred yesterday at Kruger State School.

Around 11.20am, a man entered the grounds of the school and police will allege he approached a group of children before making threats to assault them.

It will be further alleged that he man grabbed one of the children by the arm but the child pulled away and the man then left the area.

Police executed a search warrant at Bellbird Park address last night where a man was taken into custody.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

A 52-year-old Bellbird Park man has been charged with two counts of threatening violence and one count each of assault with intent to rape and trespass.

He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
