Bands are back at the rotunda
IF THE good weather stays on our side, visitors to Memorial Park next Sunday will be pleasantly surprised to hear the band Danny's Crew and Friends play for the first Bands in the Rotunda for 2013.
Danny's Crew and Friends, a local four-piece band from Carter's Ridge who play as a three piece when required, and on this occasion may grow to include some of their friends, have played for the Bands in the Rotunda in 2012.
Their music is a mixture of country, blues, pop and rock - mostly fun upbeat dance tunes, with a few comedy songs here and there.
There are both male and female vocalists which add to the variety of songs.
The band has an album of original songs as well as a couple of live demo songs available to listen to or buy on their website. Be prepared for some interesting music.
From noon until about 1.45pm the CoolArts Gympie committee will be there with a sausage sizzle and a coffee van will be available. This is a time to relax and unwind after the stresses of recent events, so bring your blanket or chair and friends (and don't forget the dancing shoes) and head for historical Memorial Park - it's free. Put the time aside, relax and enjoy the music, the company and the surrounds.
If you are in a local band or know of local bands that may want to be involved in future Bands in the Rotunda programs ring Ray Bray on 0488 227 111.
This is only one of many events that CoolArts Gympie brings to the Gympie region in partnership with the Gympie Regional Council Heritage Committee.
