Baddeley fourth at Pebble Beach

AUSTRALIAN Aaron Baddeley has recorded a final round 5-under surge to finish fourth at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in California today.

Baddeley started the round at a cracking pace, claiming four birdies from the opening six holes, before consecutive bogeys at holes seven and eight halted his tilt at the championship.

However, a final three birdies on the back nine gave the Victorian a 12-under scorecard.

American Phil Mickelson (17-under) was the eventual winner, lighting up the course with the round of the day (8-under) to claim a two stroke victory over Charlie Wi.

Australian Steven Bowditch surged up the leaderboard on the final day, a round of 4-under good enough for a tie for 15th spot.

New Zealand no.1 Danny Lee finished a career-high tie for 25th, sitting alongside Australian Geoff Ogilvy at six-under for the tournament.

Despite leading after an opening round of 63, Lee failed to capitalise on the early advantage, recording following rounds of 73 and 74 before redeeming himself with a final round of 70.

Former world number one Tiger Woods fell off the pace after dropping two shots through the front nine before stumbling to a 3-over round of 75.
