Award winning wine now available

FROM the podium to your palate Preston Peak's award winning 2008 Shiraz is now available for you to enjoy.

Preston Peak has been awarded a 4 1/2 star rating in the World's Greatest Shiraz Challenge run by Winestate Magazine September / October 2010 for their 2008 Reserve Shiraz.

The Shiraz was awarded a higher rating than many far more expensive drinks.

For instance, four star ratings were awarded to Cathcart Ridge Estate ($400 per bottle), Henschke Hill of Grace Eden Valley ($575 per bottle) and three stars where given out to Clarendon Hills Astralis Syrah ($515 per bottle).

The Preston Peak number however retails for $38 per bottle.

The local wine came in the top eight percentile of over 780 wines tasted by 18 judges over six panels.

The judges noted the wine was "very flavoursome, with good acid backbone and silky-smooth tannins".

Read the tasting notes for a more detailed description.

This success comes off the back of the Preston Peak's 2006 Reserve Shiraz's entry into James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion 2010.

The 2008 Reserve Shiraz is now available from the Cellar Door, by mail order and from the Preston Peak website.

Preston Peak's Cellar Door is located just south of Toowoomba.  Be sure to explore our map to find Preston Peak as well as many other of the fine wineries located on the Darling Downs and the Granite Belt.
