Gallangowan Rally fires up

MOTORSPORT takes a front seat come early December when the 2010 Goodyear AutoCare Gallangowan Rally hits the Gympie district.

The event, a firm favourite of the rally community, is the final round of the Queensland Rally Championship, Clubman Rally Series, Pocket Rocket and Excel Series.

Looking set to be bigger than ever this year, organisers have moved to extend the event’s program, working hard to ensure organisation comes together in time in the Brisbane Sporting Car Club.

This year, action will get underway a day earlier to allow competitors to hit the tracks to test their vehicles and warm up for the main event.

Another feature of the event this year will be allowing those new to the sport to give it a go with a come-and-try rally.

In total, a field of 50 cars is expected to take part.

The Brisbane Sporting Car Club has approached Gympie Regional Council seeking approval for road closures.
