Outdoor expo will be 'fantastic'
FARM Fantastic in Caboolture celebrates its 10th birthday this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 15, 16 and 17.
There will be three days of fun, entertainment and excitement as well as the clink of cash as businesses trade.
This is the biggest trade fair of its kind in Australia and given the economic times provides a huge boost to the region's financial bottom line.
It's a long cry from 2001 when 108 exhibitors took a chance on the event and 8000 visitors came through the gates.
This year, there will be 898 exhibitors and about 2000 companies with close to 40,000 visitors.
The event prides itself on having something for everyone – four stages of entertainment with some of the region's and the country's best performers including Rob Black, Uncle Bob's Jug Band and the Burley sisters.
There will be specialty shows, a Food for Thought tent where cooking is a pleasure and “Two Old Ducks” who will conjure up mouth-watering recipes from basic ingredients you can grow in your backyard.
The battle will be on too on the Sunday in the Fantastic Farmer where last year's winner Mitchell Wust will take on all comers in an hilarious, side-splitting event where contestants will show their agility and speed, traversing obstacles, ducking and weaving, falling over haystacks and tripping around fences.
The winner gets to take home a prize of $2000 with second getting $500 and third $250.
The finalists in the Junior Fantastic Farmer head to Farm Fantastic for the finals they are:
Under 7 - Ryan Storey, Katie Moore, Jackson Gaierio, Zeba Mustafa and Bella Rose Hughes.
Under 14 - Jackson Day, Kayla Ward, William Scouller, Nikita Williams and Ryan Stolzenber.
If travelling by car Farm Fantastic can be accessed via the Pumicestone Rd exit off the Bruce Hwy heading north and south on the highway.
It is open 8am-5pm Friday and Saturday and 8am-4pm on Sunday.
