Aussie PGA loses drawcard Scott

Former world No.1 Adam Scott is out of the Australian PGA after missing the cut at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.

The 2013 US Masters champion (pictured) endured a horror back nine yesterday with bogeys on the 12th, 13th and 14th holes, eventually carding a two-over 74.

It followed the Gold Coaster's opening round of 71 and left him two strokes short of the one-under mark needed to avoid the cut.

Fellow green jacket winner Sergio Garcia went to the clubhouse on six-under after firing a 71 to back up his opening round 67.

He is six shots shy of the leaders, Victoria's Marc Leishman and South Australia's Adam Bland.

Australia's newly crowned golfer of the year, Leishman produced seven birdies and an eagle in a seven-under-par 65 as he looked to attack the Royal Pines course at every opportunity.

Overnight co-leader Bland kept pace with a second consecutive 66 to leave the pair locked on 12-under, two shots clear of Western Australia's Greg Chalmers.

Young Queenslander Cameron Smith continued his good form in carding a 67 to sit on nine-under.
