Kayak four brings home sixth gold

AUSTRALIA lead from start to finish in the men's kayak four 1000m to win its first gold at Eton Dorney.

Tate Smith, Dave Smith, Murray Stewart and Jacob Clear rowed the perfect race to win the K4 from Hungary and the Czech Republic.

"We had our best (form), we knew we would be right up there and it was just awesome from the start," Tate Smith said.

"We just dug deep and brought it home. It was just perfect.

"We've been able to put four good guys together. We were close in Beijing, and were really close in K4s, but we have just worked really hard - it's been our focus and our priority.
