Aussie Gilchrist bowls over arch rival Singh in IPL final

ADAM Gilchrist stumped long-time adversary Harbhajan Singh in the Australian's final game in the Indian Premier League - not by using his keeping gloves, but with his bowling.

The 41-year-old dismissed the Indian spinner while bowling off-spin in Kings XI Punjab's 50-run win against the Mumbai Indians.

It only took one ball for Gilchrist to take his first and only wicket after six years of playing in the competition - he had Harbhajan caught on the long-on boundary.

It was only the 13th delivery he had bowled in 648 senior competitive matches, but the number proved far from unlucky for Gilchrist.

"Harbhajan took my wicket many many times, so I just wanted to mimic the reaction," Gilchrist, who celebrated by doing a Chris Gayle-inspired 'Gangnam Style' dance, said after taking Singh's wicket.

In his 80-game IPL career, Gilchrist scored 2069 runs at 27.22.

He also took 51 catches and made 16 stumpings.
But we may not have seen the last of Gilchrist bowling in a Twenty20 game.

Gilchrist, the only wicketkeeper to score a hundred in the history of the IPL, will play in the inaugural Caribbean Premier League in July.
