Aussie classic at Pomona Cinema

THE next screening at the Pomona Cinema will be The Overlanders (1946 - 91mins G) on Tuesday January 31, to mark Australia Day.

An Aussie "classic", London's Ealing Studios made several films in Australia in the late 1940s and 50s. This was the first and the best.

It is the story of a remarkable cattle drive across the continent, ahead of an expected Japanese invasion and stars Chips Rafferty

The film Society meets every fortnight on Tuesdays at 7pm on at the Lions' Den, corner of Mountain and Hospital St, Pomona. New members welcome and can join at the door on screening nights.

Doors open 6.40pm. See http://www.cinemapomona.com.au.
