Armed robbery at KFC

POLICE are investigating the armed robbery of KFC in Gympie last night.

Employees at the store on the corner of Channon and Wickham streets were preparing to close about 10.40pm when two men armed with knives entered the building through a rear door.

Staff were told to get on the ground and one of the men demanded cash. The offenders then fled the store with the stolen money. Nobody was injured in the incident.

The first man is described as being about 186cm tall and of a thin build. He was wearing a black shirt over his head, a black shirt and long dark pants. He was also carrying a coloured backpack.

The second man is described as being about 180cm tall, also of a thin build. He was wearing a black shirt with light-coloured writing over his head with a long-sleeved black shirt and black cargo pants. He was wearing light coloured sneakers.
