ANZAC ceremony at Widgee hall
THE Widgee ANZAC memorial dedication ceremony will be held this Saturday.
Members of the Widgee ANZAC Committee are looking forward to the culmination of considerable time and effort, with the unveiling of the completed memorial. With just a small band of dedicated people the committee, chaired by John Weber, has worked together to ensure that the Widgee Memorial became a reality.
The dedication service will start at 10.30am, at the memorial site, beside the Widgee Memorial Hall in Gympie Woolooga Road.
Everyone is invited to attend this special day for the people of Widgee and also to honour those who are no longer with us.
Special guests for the day include Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss and Mrs Truss, Mayor of Gympie Regional Council Ron Dyne and Mrs Dyne.
The 128 Army Cadet Unit, with their co-captain (ACC) Terry Reason will assist with a catafalque party for the event and an army chaplain and Major Peter Maynard from the Gympie Salvation Army will provide the blessing.
