Animal Justice Party candidate wins final NSW senate seat

A LEGAL challenge is likely to come after the Animal Justice Party has won the final seat in the NSW Parliament's upper house.

Their candidate Mark Pearson beat the No Land Tax Party's Peter Jones.

Mr Jones has already said he plans to challenge the entire election and will call for a revote, citing Liberal Party misinformation and "dirty" tactics.

The AJP won the count despite being left off almost 20,000 online voting ballots.

Christian Democratic Party leader Fred Nile will hold the balance of power in the upper house and will be crucial to Premier Mike Baird's plan to push through electricity privatisation.
