Amy Shark takes out top prize at Queensland Music Awards
REGIONAL artists have cleaned up at the Queensland Music Awards.
The night belonged to the Gold Coast's rising star Amy Shark, who picked up three awards including Song of the Year for her single Adore and a clean sweep of the Pop and Regional awards.
Since winning the Pop Award at last year's 2016 QMAs, Amy's career has gone from strength to strength including finishing at No 2 in Triple J's Hottest 100 poll in January.
She missed the awards ceremony because of a show in Melbourne, but tweeted about winning the "three gorgeous awards".

Gympie's The Amity Affliction received the Export Achievement Award, presented by SOUNDS AUSTRALIA's Esti Zilber and returned to the stage to collect the Highest Selling Album for their LP This Could Be Heartbreak.
Mackay's Tia Gostelow won two awards from her six nominations, including the Folk/Singer-Songwriter and Schools category. She also closed out the night with a live performance.

Former Bundaberg trio Good Boy took home the Rock Award, while last year's Rock winners Violent Soho picked up the prestigious Album of the Year for their acclaimed LP WACO.

In a night dominated by female talent, Gold Coast/LA-based rising R&B superstar ROMY also won the Urban category for her song Wild Heart.
Dami Im, Jarryd James and Cub Sport took home the publicly voted awards (for Most Popular Female, Most Popular Male and Most Popular Group respectively).

Far North Queensland songstress Leanne Tennant received the Blues and Roots Award for her break through single Gentle Annie, while three-piece Confidence Man were awarded the Electronic/Dance song award for Boyfriend (Repeat).
