Ambassador off to a great start

CANCER Council Hope ambassador Jennifer Hurren has made a great start to her six months of fundraising.

Two morning teas held in May in conjunction with Australia's Biggest Morning Tea event were a success.

The first morning tea was held for the staff at Jones Hill State School and included a staff bake-off. Staff were broken into four groups, with each group baking and icing a special cake.

Students made a donation for their favourite cake before each culinary delight was auctioned off.

The teams' cake which raised the largest amount of money was deemed the winning team and the winner raised $366.

Chefs Paul and Candice Jones provided a delicious morning tea for the second fundraiser, enjoyed by about 35 guests at Charlies Hotel. Both events helped raise $1500.
