Alleged rapist told to leave Rocky

A 26-YEAR-OLD who allegedly raped a teenage girl was yesterday banished from the Rockhampton region by a magistrate.

The man appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court charged with raping a 15-year-old girl five times between January 1 and January 31 this year.

He did not enter a plea, but made an application for bail.

Magistrate Barry Cosgrove granted bail under the conditions the man leave the region by this morning and have no contact with his alleged victim.

Mr Cosgrove said the man must reside in Bundaberg and can only return to the region for court appearances.

He is set to appear in court again on March 28.
