THREE men accused of escaping lawful custody near Townsville last week appeared in Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon.

Craig Jackson, Claude Cobbo and Jacob Ben Allen are accused of escaping lawful custody at Stuart, near Townsville on December 30.

They each also face five other charges from New Year's Eve as they allegedly fled south.
