Angry camper fined for behaviour

IT was third time unlucky for Alex Owen Marshall, who had been upsetting campers all day with his aggressive behaviour at Inskip Point on April 6.

He was cautioned twice, at 10.30am and 4.30pm, by Tin Can Bay police officers, who were addressing complaints from other campers.

Marshall, 28, of Arborten Road, Glenwood, was asked to stop swearing loudly, however police were called again at 5.40pm. This time he was accused of threatening to kill whoever had called police.

When officers found Marshall at 6.35pm, he was carrying a large knife in his belt and holding a big stick. It was believed he menaced another camper by following him like that to the toilets. Marshall was arrested after a struggle and was charged with committing a public nuisance and obstructing a police officer.

Gympie Magistrates Court heard it was Marshall’s second time before the court in 12 months. He was fined $600 with no conviction recorded.
