A COOLOOLA Cove man, 49, suffered serious injuries to his right hand yesterday morning while using a circular saw.

Two men were working on a home renovation project in Cooloola Cove when the accident happened about 9.30am.

A local ambulance crew arrived quickly on scene, but given the nature of the man’s injuries and the specialist care required, the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter was called to transport him to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

The man was transported by ambulance to the helicopter landing site, on a vacant block of land in the centre of town.

He was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery to repair the injury and is believed to be in a stable condition.
