MANCHESTER City's Argentinean striker Sergio Aguero has not given up on his club retaining its Premier League crown despite arch rival Manchester United leading by a massive 12 points with only 11 games remaining.

City travel to third-last Aston Villa on Monday and winning is the only thing on Aguero's mind.

He clinched the Sky Blues first title triumph since 1968 with a dramatic injury-time winner in the final game of last season, and he's not ready to give it up without a fight.

"Can we still win the title? I'd like to believe so," he said.

"We can't give up, even though it looks tough."

City have reached the FA Cup quarter-finals and Aguero hopes that form can inspire a late bid for the title.

"Each victory in the Cup means we are a step closer to winning the competition," he said.

"It's about keeping focused and trusting in our game. That applies to all our remaining Premier League games too."

Ryan Giggs is set to play his 1000th senior game for Manchester United in the home clash with Norwich tonight, while Arsenal will have to try and stop a red-hot Tottenham winger Gareth Bale from ending their five-game unbeaten run tomorrow.

Tottenham are now third and four points ahead of their north London rivals after Bale scored twice in the 3-2 win at West Ham earlier this week.

He has now scored 23 goals this season including 13 in 12 games since the start of the New Year.

It has been some 18 years since Spurs last finished above the Gunners in the league.
