Letters: cuts to aged care

Letters: ON JULY 1, there was a $40 million cut to aged care workforce measures.

There is no word from the Abbott Government on what has been cut.

This affects the training of aged care workers, covering up-skill of the workforce to meet the growing complexity of delivering aged care, including programs such as Dementia Care Essentials.

It also funds the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Aged Care Employment Program.

We have operational matters on the high sea, now silence on what programs will be discontinued as a result.

Talk about an assault on the elderly and the very people who look after them.

Come on Mr Truss, stand up for your constituents in Wide Bay. Just tell us what is happening or is the government still deciding what to cut?

Deanne Lindh,

Jones Hill.
