COOLOOLA Christian College's new adopt-a-cop was beaming during his induction on Tuesday.

Senior Constable Andy Lipke, who is usually a plain clothes detective had a new uniform on for the occasion.

"I'm exceptionally proud and thankful that you have invited me to be a part of the school community," Snr Const Lipke said.

He has a daughter in prep at the school and really wanted to take on the role.

"If you see me say hello, I've always got time," he told the students at an assembly.

It has been two years since the school has had an adopt-a-cop.
