Canavan on understanding golf and commercial property

THE green fairways of an international golf course might seem a far cry from the commercial real estate industry, yet Aaron Canavan finds many parallels across the two industries.

Both require in-depth knowledge of the terrain, unfaltering focus and determination and commitment to the end goal to achieve success.

Aaron grew up in Caboolture, attending St Columban's College. Upon graduation he accepted a golf scholarship to attend college in the USA.

Returning home after 12 months he became a full-time member of the Australian PGA, playing professional tournaments and coaching the game for nearly three years.

Ray White Commercial North Coast Central's newly appointed sales and leasing agent, he initially joined as a sales cadet, teaming up with senior sales and leasing agent Chris Massie before learning the ropes and acquiring his real estate licence to become a sales and leasing agent for the Caboolture area.

"I've always had an interest in commercial real estate and, having grown up in Caboolture, know the area like the back of my hand," Mr Canavan said.

"I'm enjoying being more entrenched within the community and Chris is a great mentor, sharing his expertise and knowledge."

Mr Massie said Aaron Canavan had what it took to make a great sales and leasing agent.

"He knows a lot of people in the area and this will stand to him over time."
