A warrior in every sense of the word

YOU may have seen Adrian Lindsay around.

The larger than life hockey coach is the first Gympie sporting identity to be featured in our new column, Weekend Warrior.

And the reason for this is that Lindsay is a warrior, literally.

An ex-serving member of Australia's elite paratrooper regiment, 3 RAR, Lindsay, since his discharge has devoted his life to the game that he says gave him so much in his younger years; hockey.

The current Queensland under-13 manager, juggles a full time job with numerous coaching commitments.

He is involved with the Cooloola Heat women's side as well coaching numerous junior representative teams.

A hockey player in his own right, Lindsay represented the ACT throughout most of his junior career as well as representing defence force teams during his nine year military career.

If you know a weekend warrior send their contact information to sport@gympietimes.com.
