Pregnant Toowoomba woman pleads guilty to supplying ice

A HEAVILY pregnant woman has pleaded guilty before Toowoomba Magistrates Court to possessing and supplying to others the dangerous drug "ice"

Jodie Amanda Thompson, 30, also pleaded guilty to possessing $3985 cash suspected by police as being the proceeds of drugs and having a mobile phone suspected as being used to facilitate the supply of methylamphetamine.

Thompson, who told the court she was due to give birth in November, pleaded guilty to three counts of supplying methylamphetamine to another person between May 26 and June 16 last year.

Her solicitor Stuart Bale told the court his client consented to having the matters committed up to the higher court for sentence.

The Magistrates Court does not have jurisdiction to sentence on a number of the charges.

No specific details of the case were aired during the full hand-up committal hearing in court yesterday.

Magistrate Graham Lee committed Thompson to the Toowoomba District Court for sentence at a date to be set by the Department of Public Prosecutions.

There being no objection to bail from police, Thompson was remanded on bail pending her appearance in the higher court.
