A dinner with the cricket stars

CELEBRATING the arrival of the Australian Cricketers’ Association Masters Tour in Gympie this weekend is the Sportsman’s Dinner at the Gympie Civic Centre tonight.

Tickets to the big night have been on sale for a number of weeks and cricket fans have pounced on the opportunity to be a part of Gympie cricket history.

The dinner begins at 6.30pm and features the Australian cricket legends swapping their cricket attire for something a little more formal.

Fans will be able to sit back and enjoy a delicious meal in the company of a cross-section of Australia’s greatest cricket talent.

Players will also have the chance to take the spotlight as guest speakers and give personal accounts of career hightlights as well as their opinions on the game’s future.

Meanwhile, a memorabilia auction will have fans digging deep in the hope of being able to lay their hands on some impressive items going under the hammer. Guests are asked to come prepared before bidding, with all proceeds going to Gympie Cricket.

Months of planning have gone into the dinner and organisers ought to be congratulated on their efforts.
