Speedway back in action at Mothar

GYMPIE speedway roared back into action at Mothar Mountain last month with a bumper meet lifting the veil on a new season.

Fans eager to get back out to the track and pack the stands won’t have long to wait with the next meet taking place on Saturday, October 16.

Gympie speedway organisers know exactly how to please fans of the sport, and the second meet won’t disappoint.

Street Sedan drivers will be in the spotlight as they do battle over 40 laps for the North Coast Radiators Street Sedan 20/20.

Adding to the excitement will the second round of the Performax International ASCF Junior Sedans, QSCA Junior Street Sedans, Super Street and Modified Production.

Already this season drivers have signalled their intentions to go hard in the pursuit of victory on the eminently unforgiving Mothar Mountain track.

Taking risks has been rewarding for some drivers, while others have come unstuck with spectacular consequences.

Gates for the meet will open at 3pm with racing getting underway at 4.30pm.

Cost is adults $25, concession $20 and children under 13 free.
