New app, BeyondNow, hopes to reduce number of suicides

WITH Australia's suicide rate on the rise, a new smartphone app has been developed to help reduce deaths.
The BeyondNow app, which beyondblue and Monash University have developed with funds from the Movember charity, shows people how to create a plan they can refer to if they experience suicidal thoughts.
It can be downloaded for free.
If you are in a crisis, you can phone beyondblue on 1300 224 636 any time of the day or night.
