Gympie Blinds an award finalist

IN its 42-year history, Micro Business Award finalist Gympie Blinds has had three owners.

Current owners Andrew and Michelle Dunkley purchased the manufacturing, retail and installation business in 2008 and are finalists in the 2010 Gympie Chamber of Commerce Micro Business Award.

The manufacturing of vertical blinds, awnings, security doors and windows is done on-site at Fern Street business. Gympie Blinds also supplies and installs roller blinds, Roman blinds, Venetian blinds, lotus folding doors, and roller shutters. “We are Gympie’s leading supplier and installer of internal and external shutters including timber, aluminium and poly resin shutters,” Mrs Dunkley said.

“We have three employees, along with my husband and myself. Darren Walker is one of our fitters and has been working for Gympie Blinds for 10 years.

“Martin Crawford has been with Gympie Blinds for 17 months and is very hard working and loyal. Chris Kapernick is a valued member of Gympie Blinds and does our vertical blind sewing.”

Gympie Blinds will soon be Gympie’s only Somfy Automated Specialists which includes remote control systems, allowing blinds to be fully automated.
