Council may help to fix roads

GYMPIE Regional Council is considering offering a 20 per cent cost contribution towards the upgrade of unmaintained roads, on condition it does the work.

A report to this week’s Works and Services Committee said this was the best way of getting design work done cheaply and ensuring that the job was done to the standard of comparable roads in the region. “It is very important all work is done to the current standard for the applicable class of road,” the report said.
