Our girl is Miss Popular

WE all know she’s a lovely girl and now it’s official, with Gympie’s Miss Showgirl Andrea Schulz sashed Miss Popular at the Miss Queensland Show Girl competition in Brisbane last week.

While she didn’t win the state title, which went to 22-year old Taroom entrant Christie Menzies, the other contestants voted Andrea the most popular.

It was a whirlwind week for the 18-year-old, who said the award ceremony was “fantastic”.

“Everyone’s friends and families were there – it was a nice night to finish off a great week,” she said.

“It was an amazing experience. I wish I could go back and do it again.

“I loved every minute of it and the girls were fantastic; you just meet some people and you know you will stay in touch with them for the rest of your life.

“I’m back at Gatton, back at uni and trying to organise things for the Mary Valley Show,” she told The Gympie Times yesterday.
