Gympie High's 2015 school leaders chosen
JUNIOR secondary captains will take on leadership roles at Gympie State High School for the first time next year.
A school spokeswoman said the introduction of captains in Year 9 supported leadership development in the student body.
Leadership was important to develop student capability and was a key part of Junior Secondary at Gympie High, the spokeswoman said.
"We have been overwhelmed with the quality of applicants from our Year 8 students who have been active in their first year as part of the GSHS team," she said.
"It is with great pleasure that we introduce our 2015 Junior Secondary school Captains and House captain team for 2015."
As a junior secondary leader, students will represent the entire junior secondary body at official functions and in the greater Gympie community.

Junior secondary leaders will be the voice of the student body, working with the senior executive team to contribute to positive learning environments, the maintenance of high academic standards and the continued promotion of excellence in all areas of our diverse curriculum for every student at Gympie High.
