17-year-old killed in car accident on Stotts Rd, Mackay

POLICE are investigating a fatal traffic crash, which claimed the life of a Mackay teenager.

A second man, who was a passenger in the Landcruiser, was taken to Mackay Base Hospital with minor injuries.

Initial investigations suggest about 8.45pm a vehicle travelling along Stotts Rd rolled several times on a straight section before coming to a stop on the edge of the road, a police spokesperson said.

A 17-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The Mackay Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
