A MACKAY man has been arrested by police and charged with more than two dozen property offences, with that number expected to climb.

Detective Acting Inspector Sam Bliss said police on Wednesday arrested the 32-year-old man, who had been wanted for some time, in Mirani.

"At this stage, investigators have linked him to at least 26 property offences - at least," Det Act Ins Bliss said.

More than $100,000 worth of cars and property was recovered from an address, including tools and equipment taken from Paget and the industrial area, Det Act Isp Bliss said.

More specifically, a caravan, a quad bike, a large quantity of assorted tools and also an air rifle and a cross bow.

Police will allege the break-and-enters had occurred for "a number of months".

The man is due to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
